Dear Diamant Family,
Even when one has lived a long life it is still a shock to receive the news that they have passed. I have many fond memories of Bob. He was my mentor at SOM. He gave me a huge responsibilities on my first project at SOM (John Hancock Building) and as a new graduate from IIT. Under his watchful eye I represented him and SOM on the tiny Hopkinsville Milling Company office building. I worked with him on the Marine Midland, Rochester, NY project. I had several opportunities to travel with him. He introduced me to the opera and some great restaurants in Paris, France. He encouraged me to teach a course at IIT and adjusted my workload accordingly. He strongly defended me when I managed to anger Bruce Graham. When my wife and I visited him and his wife in Florida he welcomed us a long-lost friends and treated us to lunch. He was a great man. I am thankful for his impact on my life and remember him fondly.

Dear Laura, Steven, Adam and everyone else,
My heart aches for you at the loss of your beloved father. I remember him being so amazingly patient with the silliness of little girls and teens. He invited us warmly into your home and gave us great freedom to come and go. I also recall the nervous tension of trying to get the Olds Cutlass back to the train station parking lot as close to the original parking space as we could so he wouldn’t know we’d taken it during the day. I also recall the pride and joy on his face at Laura’s wedding. I wish I’d had the opportunity to see him more recently.
May your lifetime of memories warm your heart and guide you during this most difficult time.
Love,
Julie

Dear Shelly
We are so sorry to hear about your loss. At 92, Bob certainly led a long and full life. Please know that we will keep Bob as well as you and your family in our prayers. We still remember those SOM trips … what a great time was had by all!! And the ‘architecture’ Would Hancock and Sears ever been built without him. Bruce relied on him a lot and now that they are together again I wonder what buildings they will be doing!!
Sincerely
Mary Kay and Tom Eyerman
