Sandra D. Himel

I was deeply saddened to learn of Sandy’s passing this week and being unable to attend her service today. Knowing Sandy over the last 35 years has been a wonderful gift and I can truly say she was one of the strongest individuals I know. She definitely fought the good fight.

Sandy never missed an opportunity to brag about her children and grandchildren. It was impressive how involved she was in everyone’s life.
Sandy will be greatly missed.

I worked with Jack in the 1960s, then left the work world to marry and have a family. My firstborn was a baby girl named Naomi. Decades later, Naomi fell in love and married Frank Himel–Jack’s nephew! By then, sadly, Jack had passed away but I became a “mechutanim” in the Himel family and had the privilege of knowing Sandy. My heart ached for all the health challenges she endured. May her memory be for a blessing.

Sandy was my best friend and confidante for the last 7 years. We were more like sisters than friends . We were always there for each other. I will miss her terribly.but I know in my heart that she’s at peace now.
