Obituary

Maurice “Maury” Steiner, 94, died peacefully at home. Beloved husband for 65 years to Donna, nee Lang; devoted father to Barbara, Lynn, Barry, and the late Suzanne; cherished “grandfather” to fur babies Josie and Phoenix. Maury was a proud left-hander and retired CPA who served his country during the Korean War and provided for his family. He discovered traveling later in life and traveled with Donna to many countries and continents. Maury was a long-time fan of Kukla, Fran and Ollie, penguins, dogs, and murder mysteries, and he was an avid sports lover. He was a devoted friend who maintained life-long friendships. He will be remembered with fondness as a nice man who touched many hearts in his long lifetime. The family would like to thank Maury’s caregiver Mar Tolcado for his compassion and dedication. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind, www.guidedogs.org, or the Chicago Public Library Foundation, www.cplfoundation.org. Chapel service Weds, March 20, 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd, Arlington Heights. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park. Dear Mrs Steiner, Lynn, Barry and Barbara,

Please accept my condolences on the death of your husband and father. A kinder, more gentle man never graced this earth. Mr Steiner welcomed me to West Fitch with such warmth and kindness on my few visits. It was a pleasure to host Mr and Mrs Steiner in London to a day about town and to learn it was their wedding anniversary the following day and the joy of surprising with a bottle of champagne. Mr Steiner was a great man, with strong family values. His best eulogy shall forever be his children. Requiescat in Pacem. Love to all from Dubai, Colm

My heartfelt condolences go out to the family for such a tremendous loss. A truly wonderful person,husband, father, neighbor and friend.. I know he will be deeply missed. I remember when he took us to my first ever baseball game in the bleachers at Wrigley Field. It was so much fun and a memory I hold dearly.
