Beverly Baskin, beloved wife of Sy (Seymour) Baskin, died peacefully at her home at 87 years of age,surrounded by family. She and Sy enjoyed a vibrant life including adventures around the world over their 67 years of marriage. In addition to Sy, she is survived by her brother Alvin Geller and his wife Barbara of Porter, IN; daughter Bonnie Baskin and her husband Bob Elde of Minneapolis, MN, son Marc Baskin of Seal Beach, CA; grandchildren Eric Corndorf and his wife Heather; Adam Corndorf and his wife Christine; Alison Baskin and David Baskin; four great-grandchildren- Asher Corndorf, Remi Corndorf, Henry Corndorf and Emma Corndorf. In addition she is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Beverly was known for her style and presence. Within the family circle, she radiated her love of family and cultivated very close relationships with grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Charity began at home, where she always cared for the well-being of her extended family. Her charity extended into the communities in which she lived, where she was a member of Bryn Mawr Country Club, Lincolnwood, IL, the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, Key Biscayne, FL and was a loyal participant in the Lion of Judah. She served as a committed volunteer for more than 30 years in Patient Relations at Mercy Hospital, Miami, FL as well as a volunteer at the Miami Children’s Museum, Miami FL. In her later years, she was an enthusiastic supporter of the Hill Country Science Mill, Johnson City, TX. The family is grateful beyond words to her caregivers and hospice staff, who provided loving care to the end. Chapel service Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights, IL. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Hill Country Science Mill (sciencemill.org), or the charity of your choice.
