Lou, what an amazing life you had! I will always cherish the time we spent together, and remember all of your great advice.
You were an inspiration to me, and so many others. Thank you for your service, and friendship.
Until we meet again.
Your friend, Paul.

I worked with Lou about 30 years ago at the National Sporting Goods Association in Mt. Prospect. I was in my 20s and was not completely comfortable in the male dominated workplace. Lou was always in the office early and always took the time to talk with me. We became fast friends and I have sent he and Blanche yearly holiday cards for many years. He always included a note and talked about how he shopped at Aldi where my husband has worked now for 35 years. After Blanche passed he wrote about how deeply he missed her. I am so grateful that a few years ago I just drove to his house and rang the bell and he was home. After refreshing his memory about who I was, he let me in and we had a very nice visit. He was a special person and now he is reunited with his beloved Blanche.
