My morning drop-off at Hillcrest was filled with many conversations with Mrs. Butler.
She was honest and caring.
She always offered me a shoulder to cry on and her eyes twinkled when she talked about running.
She amazed me with her testimony about surviving cancer, and it was a joy to see her so excited for the wedding this past spring.
She looked so beautiful when cut off her hair in preparation for the big day!
I will forever on jump rope and think about the peace she would instill in me after lending me her ear and graciously offering me honest advice.
She was so very very proud of her family and her career.
I know that she is at peace and with God, and watching over us.
In fact, as I awoke to enjoy the sunrise this morning, she was in my thoughts.
She would have been enjoying a run and witnessing the beautiful sunrise too.
My prayers are offered for you Butler family, may you allow God to walk next to you during this time of change.
My life will forever be different because of Barb.

I worked in the front office saw Barb mostly during the summer months, she would always come after a long day at camp, and always with a smile. We would chit chat about what fun things happened during her day. I also work with her Son Jimmy and occasionally see her husband Jim. I know she will be missed by the Park District. Am so sorry for their loss My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. ❤️

Barb,
When I think of you, the first thing that comes to mind is your positivity. You were upbeat not only to co-workers but to the children that you served.
One special memory was at Jimmy’s Char House where you were celebrating your birthday and how eager you were to introduce me and my husband to your family.

I have not seen Barbara in years, but I have fond memories of spending time with Barb,
Sandie and Susan as a child at their house in Skokie. Our parents were childhood friends and remained friends throughout their lifetime(though friends is not a strong enough word).Barb and I would lament about being the youngest of 3 children, we enjoyed being together. I always admired Barbara’s determination to be a competitive athlete. My heartfelt sympathy to Barbara’s husband and children, Evie, Susan and Sandie.

Butler Boys,
I’m so terribly sorry to hear of Mrs. Butler’s passing. Barb was a wonderful woman who had a big impact on my life growing up. And over the past several years has also taught my nephews. I will never forget how kind she was to my family and I, and helping me get to school/practice on time. I love you guys. I’m sorry I can’t be there for you. You’re in thoughts in my prayers.
