Because we grew up in very small towns our classmates were much like extended family. When Prairie View was going to consolidate with Logan High, Lauren and his brother Leon drove to Logan one year in advance of the consolidation. Our freshman class voted to have Lauren be our president. I remember him being very active in football as the punter and on the basketball team which won first place in the state. He was intelligent and musically talented. Lauren will be greatly missed.

Lauren was a wonderful husband to my very dear friend Joyce and a wonderful father to Sami & Brett. His sense of humor was so sharp and he was great fun to be around. Joyce hit the jackpot with Lauren, as he did with her. Sami & Brett, my heart breaks for you both, but I know that the beautiful life your parents helped create for you will live on with the support of your devoted family and friends. Much love and strength to you for as long as you need it.

Logan High School memory: Lauren was an excellent student and a class act… No pun intended… A student who others could look up to. I spent many hours on the basketball court, both in practice and in games with Lauren. Will remember him as a first class individual. RIP my friend. Shine…

My memories: Beer and a shared love of fun cars! Lauren was an anchor to Joyce during her struggles and now this. Life can be cruel, but his last month’s were filled with the joy of grandkids. To Sami, Brett, and Andrea, I hope that fond memories ease yet another loss. All my love.
