Phillip, A Eulogy for
- [x] Elaine! (Pause and Look at Aunt E the E.)
A special name in my brother’s life.
- [x] Aunt Elaine. When Philip was a baby Aunt Elaine, age 15, helped take care of him at great deal of the time because our mother was working. So Phillip & Elaine established a close bond during their lifetime.
- [x] Marrying Elaine (nee. Kantor)
When another Elaine came into his life he fell in love with her too. They had a lasting relationship
- [x] CPA exam
One of the images that remains with jnmltwme is witnessing Dad’s excitement over Phillip passing the CPA exam. As Phillip opened the letter from the CPA board and showed it to Dad, will the excitement on Dad’s face it’s something I had never witnessed before or since. Phillip made Dad so proud.
- [x] Big Heart
Like Dad, Philip had with big heart heart.
He could easily get mad, then turn around and be charming. He knew how to take care of his family and clients. A testimony is that they stayed with for years.
- [x] People person
Phillip was know for his honesty and ability to engage in conversation. His clients loved his financial help and trusted him with their income tax returns.
- [x] Loved cruises
His ability to engage in conversion. Never shy, he would typically meet up with a stranger, like when he and Elaine were on one of their many cruises, and begin a conversation that would show an understanding and interest.
- [x] My big brother
Philip acting as a big brother, for example, he advised me to go to University of Wisconsin, excellent advice. Furthermore he drove me there.
- [x] Mom’s wishes for us
Mom’s wish was for us to remain close, so we set up weekly calls on Sunday morning, which we did for over 20 years.
Phillip and I always found things to talk about, family history, financial help, and near the end of his life Jewish history.
- [x] Sense of humor
Phillip retained his sense of humor, even in the hospital:
“The food isnt very good, and I didn’t get enough of it”
- [x] Weekly calls
I will miss those weekly calls, but his spirit will remain with me.

Dear Elaine and Family,
For about 40 years we were neighbors on Concord Lane, Wilmette of Paul and Elsie and I remember them and you very well. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family on Philip's passing. I recall his and your visits to Paul and Elsie. May wonderful memories sustain you during the trying period. May you be comforted among the mourners in Zion and Jerusalem.
