My Skokie ties run like the swift – I remember walking down Bronx Ave with my mother to take the Yellow Line. When I returned to Skokie and shared the news with my Skokie sister Arlene even shared that my wife found a job at a restaurant down the street – Immediately Arlene asks if my wife MET her mom. Thinking that the chances of it being the same restaurant would be slim to none – my wife had met Arlene’s Mom and Sister – WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?
Arlene and her mom's relationship are a relationship that I only dream to replicate with my mother. I’ve been working with Arlene for just under two years and the only phone calls I was excited to take was from her mother(and Frank but SHHHHH!). She was always so sweet and patient. She understood her daughter was working and wouldn't mind if I we were all busy and if her daughter had to call back. I will miss those calls. Rest In Peace.
