Rick S. Provus

Dr. Provus and I had the same date of birth. We would exchange birthday cards(always very funny) about me being so much older, which I always denied. Everyone in Radiology will always remember him. Crusty on the outside……softy on the inside. Debbie, you and your family are all in my prayers. Such a lost is never forgotten.

Dr. Provus (aka “Provie”) will be truly missed. I worked with Provie for over 25 years in Radiology and then the Breast center as a Technologist. Provie was my go to person for Everything!! He affectionally called me his “favorite”. I remember when I was diagnosed with mitral valve regurgitation and was crying my eyes out telling Provie about it when he said. “It’s not like you have stage 4 cancer! this can be cured”! Provie was one in a million!! My Sister Karen (who he called his wife) and I, love him and Debbie dearly. There are no words that can express the sadness that we feel, but we take comfort in knowing that Provie will always be remembered as a wonderful caring and compassionate friend. We love you Provie!!

I knew Dr. Provus for many years and we had been in training together at Loyola. He was in radiology and i in internal medicine. He always had a joke or funny story and loved to kid me. I have not seen him since his retirement from Macneal but have many happy memories of him kidding me as we had coffee together in the doctor’s lounge. I missed him when he retired and am greatly saddened by his death. My deepest sympathies to is family as I am sure they will miss him greatly.
