Mike worked with me and others while at Urban Retail Properties Co. and earned all of our respect over the years. I had a chance to work more closely with him as he represented our new company, DMA, in meaningful ways dealing with some of our most important clients and business ventures. Mike always treated everyone with incredible respect and good nature, even (and especially) when moving towards agreement. I really valued my time working with him and he has been an important member of our team’s success over the years. He will be missed. We are thinking of your family and wish you some peace in knowing Mike was a good man and that he made leaves a positive legacy.

I had the privilege of working with Mike for a period of time while I was at Urban. In addition to all his other good qualities he was one of the most fundamentally decent people I’ve ever met. My condolences on your loss.

Mike’s parent, Harold and Isabel, were my parents’ best friends. Our families were close, and Isabel was like a second mother to me. Since Mike was several years older than I was, I had more of a bond with his sister, Jessie, who was more my age. But I always admired Mike, and he was always kind and considerate to me. Mike was often held up as a model for me. He was solid and mature, which I was not always. Mike has been a rock and anchor for Jessie, and my heart goes out to her and to Laney. He was a good man. May his memory be a blessing.

Mike and I were old friends, went to Senn together, were both Managers of the Senn teams (got our Letterman letters), Aquilas brothers. We rode together every day to Senn. Will dearly miss Mike. My condolences to his family, and to Laney, in particular.

Mike and I met in high school when we became club brothers in the Aquilas. We had do many wonderful memories doing what kids did then; playing baseball, poker, having club meetings and just goofing off. He was a great friend and even let me date his sister Jessie.
What a truly great and trusting friend! When we were 18, three of us (with Mike Tutt being the 3rd) went to Miami on vacation. We’re still not sure how we got our parents to agree off but we had a great time and avoided trouble.
Mike showed great legal promise even then. He argued for a hamburger after being told the grill was closed and finally gave up on the burger, choosing instead to demand a grilled cheese sandwich. We got tossed out of that place.
So many more memories over 60+ years. I will sorely miss his friendship and good humor.

So much to remember. Beginning of high school, being an Aquilas brother, being in the same dorm at the University of Illinois, then accidental meeting in Denver airport and skiing together, and finally our Aquilas reunion. We will miss you. Our sincere condolences to Laney and the rest of the family.

Laney, you and Mike were always two of those at the top of our list of must-see people when we came back to Deerfield to visit. We’ve enjoyed seeing the two of you on Facebook, spending so much close quality time with your kids and grandkids. Count us among the many who will sorely miss Mike.
I’m sorry we won’t be able to come for the shiva, but know that you’re in our hearts.
Love to you and all of the family,

Way too many to list here. Mike and Laney have been close friends for 60 years, or so. Met Mike as freshmen at Senn High School, where we became Aquilas club brothers (63 years ago). Can remember playing Scrabble at Mike’s parents house, and laughing about a Chinese egg plant as a word (it wasn’t). Mike and I were fierce competitors for grades at UofI, Navy Pier. He will be missed dearly!

It seems just a short while ago that we were working together at Maling Shoes and learning how to stretch to fit. Mike was a good friend from our days at Senn and then at the University of Illinois. Our heartfelt condolences to all the family at this time
