Dear Family,
You were BLESSED.
I only knew Helene a few years and saw her many afternoons at the condo pool. I enjoyed our chats, seeing the love and life in her eyes and her smile. She would light up when our granddaughters were playing together. She missed her family so much but always enjoyed the children playing.
Helene always made me smile and filled my heart with love whenever I saw her. I could feel how much she loved people! She had the most amazing outlook on everything! I will keep her memory in my heart and miss her sweetness.
My prayers to all, Dianne Cirone

I was so sorry to learn of Helene’s passing. My condolences to the family. Helene and I met at the University of Illinois and have been friends
since. Our most recent emails and phone calls have turned to politics. I sent her an email on January 7. She was a good friend and I will miss her very much.

My family’s connections to the Rivlin goes back at least a half century. My parents were very good friends with Helene and Gerry, and of course I knew them and my sister’s best friend Debbie growing up in Wilmette. My fondest memory of Helene was in 2004 at my mother’s 80th birthday. At the very end of her life, my mother was living in an Alzheimer’s facility and barely even recognized her own children. Yet on her birthday the lone non-family member to enjoy some cake with my mother was her great friend and a wonderful human being, Helene Rivlin. Condolences to the Rivlin family and friends.

So MANY memories, some first hand, some part of the lore. Edith and Helene were pregnant together, walked together pushing Annette and I in strollers, certainly don’t remember that but love that connection. Teibloom Rivlin connection is multi-generational, wide and deep. Gerald B and Sev and Maury, Helene and Geraldine. Linda and Deborah and Sandy. Annette and I. My son Matthew and Daniel Eisenberg. I have so many warm childhood memories that occurred on Valley View and then the 2nd house in Wilmette with the balcony:) As I got older and lost my mother, I came to cherish her friends in another very special way and Helene and I had a new relationship, she came to dinner in my Sukkah with ‘the ladies’ and I loved to see her when Annette was in town. Your entire family means to much to me. Deborah, Sandy, Jeffrey, and Annette, the loss of your mother is a profound loss and I offer you my deepest condolences. Also to your partners and children who i know were the lights of her life. And to Jocelyn. The circumstances of Covid make it so much more heartbreaking. May her memory bless you all the days of your lives and inspire us all to acts of kindness and love. Judy T-M

Dear Annette and family,
We are so sorry to hear about Helene’s passing. My favorite memory of her is watching her dance and have a wonderful time on the dance floor at Anabel’s Bat Mitzvah. That was so much fun to see.
Our love to you all during this time,
Michelle, Alex, Lynnea and Tristan

Though we did not know Helene well, the love of her family and life was apparent in knowing her children. You were all blessed to have her as a mother. Much love, Harry and Marjorie

Condolences to all of you on Helene’s passing. I remember, from many moons ago, she always had a smile and a good word. Don’t only mourn the death, but celebrate the life.
