ObituaryLeslie S. Peck, nee Seider, 61 of Long Grove, IL on July 15, 2021. Beloved wife of Steven for over 37 wonderful years. Loving mother of Michelle Peck and Jason Kamuda, Melissa and Calvin Cohen, and Marlee and Zach Kovar. Cherished grandmother (Gigi) of James and Libby. Dear sister, cousin, and aunt. Wonderful friend to many who became family.
Leslie has worn many hats throughout her life. After graduating from Wharton, Leslie went from working on Wall Street to co-founding a real estate development company. Moving to Illinois, Leslie went from being a stay at home mom to assisting in regulatory accounting. All throughout, she loved planning events with the sisterhood at Congregation Beth Judea and leading the design for all her children's life events. At the end of the day, Leslie's favorite hat to wear was always being a mother and grandmother. She lived for her family and as she always said, they will be her greatest legacy. Leslie will be remembered for her creativity, strength, compassion, and wittiness and will live on in her children and grandchildren. Leslie fought tremendously during her year-long battle with cancer and the Peck family thanks all of her doctors, nurses, caregivers, and hospice professionals for the kindness and care they provided her. The Peck family cannot thank enough their loving community who has helped them through such a challenging year. Leslie will forever be in our hearts and memories.

Steve (and family),
For years you and Leslie were the "go-to" couple at the top of the evening Minyan Call List. Leslie would answer, "How many do you need?" and she would be with you if more than one was needed. As Rabbi Zimbalist mentioned Monday, Leslie's thoughts and concerns were for others in need. May her memory be for a blessing, and may you all be comforted together with the other mourners in Zion and Jerusalem.

We were blessed to get to meet Leslie at the beautiful wedding of Calvin and Melissa. Her energy, her spark, and her warmth were such a gift to her family and her friends. We know she will be missed and know that her spark and love of life live on through her husband, her daughters, and her grandchildren. May her memory be a blessing. With love, Kevin and Clare Cohen and the Cohen family

As a friend of Melissa, I had the pleasure of meeting Leslie several times. She was always so bubbly and friendly and easy to talk to. I also and got to witness the beautiful, close relationship she had with Melissa. She raised an incredible daughter and friend, who I know will be the best mother herself because of the amazing example set by Leslie.

I’m so sad to hear of Leslie’s passing. I knew her and her sister Julie as beautiful young girls who became beautiful young women. I remember Leslie’s sweetness, gentleness and warmth. My heart goes out to her family (hard to believe that young girl was a grandmother! But it’s been so many years since I’ve seen her.) My condolences go out especially to her sister Julie, whose big, beautiful heart must be broken. I send my love and best wishes to her and the rest of the family.
