Selma Katz nee Denberg, 83; beloved wife of the late Howard; cherished mother of Judi Katz (Dan Kelly) and Jo-Anne (Louis) Schwartzman; adored Momo of Marisa (fiancé Josh Rappaport), Jeremy, Jonah and Hannah Kelly, Gabrielle, Tamar and Eliana Schwartzman; dear sister of the late Debra (Warren) Volchenboum and sister-in-law of Shirley Goldberg; treasured aunt of Sam, Miriam, Jay-Jay, Aliza, Jay and Yossi; greatly loved by many cousins and friends. Selma was passionate about Shakespeare, proud of her Michigan Wolverines and devoted to Judaism. She will be dearly missed. Graveside service today, Tuesday 10:00 AM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. I am so sorry to learn of Selma's passing. Selma and my mom were good friends through Ilana Pioneer women and they were both pregnant at the same time. Hence, I grew up in the Katz's home as Jo-Anne's buddy and always loved being at the Katz's home. Selma always had a welcoming smile, fed us macaroni and cheese and milkshakes every weekend, and always encouraged our creative play. Even when Jo-Anne and I drifted apart, Selma was always checking in on me through my mom. She always cared and was there for you and she will be missed. My love to all of you.

I want to give my condolences to the family. Your Mother and Grandmother was a friend of mine through Ilana Na'Amat. We worked together two years as social chairmen. She taught me so much during those two years. I enjoyed book club with her participation and I enjoyed when she gave a book review very much. I visited her once at her place in Florida and she treated me with wonderful hospitality. Her love of Israel was overflowing and inspired me . I will miss her and am a better person for having known her.
May her life be a blessing to all she touched,
