Obituary
Larry J. Wolfson, 78, passed away suddenly on February 17, 2021; best friend and loving husband of Mellie (nee Roth) for 57 years; loving dad of Lainie (David) Rabinowitz and Bryna (Michael) Quandt; proud papa of Sydney, Lindsey, Jonathan and Matthew; dear uncle of Michael (Candy) Singer, Alan (Nancy) Singer, Sheryl (Barry) Cohen, David (Jennifer) Roth and Heidi (Stuart) Gold; cherished son of the late Oscar and the late Jean Block Wolfson; much loved son-in-law of the late Harry and the late Ida Roth; adored brother of the late Zira Singer and brother in law of the late Barry Roth. To know him was to love him. He made lifelong friendships with people he met through his travels. He loved reconnecting with old friends and was head of his high school reunion committee. For over 60 years you could find Larry hard at work at Block Steel Corporation, starting in the warehouse and eventually serving as President. When he wasn't at work you could find Larry in his backyard pool chair or on his ipad texting with his grandchildren; his wife, family and grandkids were his world. Due to the pandemic, services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to Congregation Beth Shalom (www.bethshalomnb.org) or to the charity of your choice.Service Information

I was so sorry to read about Larry in the Friday, February 19, Chicago Tribune.
I am certain the Larry would not remember me, but he, his sister Zira and I used to play together at Weinstein's resort in South Haven, MI when we were all much younger. His parents, Oscar and Jean and my parents Sam and Hannah Orlov would vacation at Weinstein's every summer at the same time.
While we have not been in contact for many, many years, I still think of those wonderful days and times, long gone.
Our sincerest condolences to Larry's family. It brought back many wonderful reminiscences.

Larry will be missed. He brought smiles to the room and lifted people up when he entered. I’m sure in his after life he will be doing the same. He was a wonderful man & loved his family more than anything. Sending love to all of you at this time.

I worked with Larry and the team at Block Steel in 2009-2010 Larry was always upbeat and had an optimistic view of all things. We shared many stories of family, children and life. Deepest sympathies to the family
