Obituary
She lived, loved and laughed.
She will be missed more than words can say by those who liked her and mostly by those who loved her. She graduated from Roosevelt University with a teaching degree and taught elementary school until she began her most cherished job of being a mother. She retired from the Illinois Department of Unemployment Security, then spent her time with her friends, family and grocery shopped and cooked A LOT. QVC will miss her.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey “Jeff” Jacobson (Heidi Millman), daughter, Ethel “Et” Schillmoeller (Hank), and the loves of her life, her grandchildren: Benjamin, Leah, Andrew, Sarah, Samuel, David, Rachel and Matthew- All AKA “Babe”.
My love for you is not a gift to you. It is a gift to me.
“So, that’s it.”

Joy is one of the ladies that we all were together after meeting in rehab from illnesses/surgery. There were originally 6 of us and we got together every month for brunch or dinner to celebrate life and make sure each of us were doing well. At one point we started having meals with Joy at her home. It became too difficult for her to get out with the wheelchair. QVC will definitely miss her as she bought new dishes and cooked marvelous meals for the 5 of us that lived in the area. She did not want us to spend any money, but we insisted in bringing desserts, wines or side dishes.
She had beautiful tablecloths and silverware that had been handed down in the family.
She talked about her family, had great stories and was a perfect hostess. We will miss her hearty laughter, stories, patience and loving ways. RIP, Miss Joy! You are so loved.
