Dearest Family,

With a heavy heart I send you my deepest condolences at this unbearable time.
You have been in my thoughts and prayers constantly and will continue to be.
Just take one moment at a time.

I met Sam at my Grandsons, Warner Nieborg’s wedding, we sat across from each other at the rehearsal dinner. We conversed like we had known each other, what a pleasure it was to meet him, a very nice young man!

Sending hugs,
Sue Warner

I met Sam at Warner’s bachelor party. We hit it off immediately and bonded over our love of baseball. I’ll never forget the night of Warner’s wedding when Sam and I were back at our hotel. We laid awake and talked about baseball for hours and it was then that the idea for us to do a podcast together was born. 2020 was a hard year but Sam made it so much easier. One Game at a Time couldn’t have happened without Sam. He and I loved to talk intensely and had a tendency to get too passionate in what started as friendly debates. Our relationship had its ups and downs but I will always cherish those conversations even if they didn’t always end well. I will never find someone who knows how to push my buttons like he could. I’m deeply saddened that he and I didn’t have time to make amends. We spent countless hours talking about baseball and yet never were able to see a game in person together. I wish I had more time with Sam. I wish we could have kept the podcast going. But I will forever cherish the memories I have of him. Swamp Monsters for life <3

I worked with Sam on making a comedy pilot where he played the lead as a young man trying to keep his neighborhood safe from suspicious activity. It was 3 weekends of us running around LA grabbing shots wherever we could. Sam really embodied a hilarious character, I always respected him as an artist after that.

The Vampire Dips last game night together having a drink Katrina

I only met you this year via the Vampire Dips, but I could tell how much you loved baseball from the minute I met you. You were wonderful to be with on the field, always giving such positive feedback and cheering everyone on especially when you coached from third base. I wish I could have gotten to know you so much more. Thanks for being such a great teammate and friend

The many holiday dinners we shared with you all are still bright in my mind. Sam was a funny kid who seemed to always make the kids table the more fun table to be.
