Jerry Bey (92), devoted son of the late Goldie and Ben Bey, loving brother of the late Frieda (Nat) Goldberg, Rose (Sam) Sherman, and Lillian (Harry) Loeb; cherished and adored uncle of Penny (Leo) Taylor, Ilene (George) Sang, Ted (Linda) Sherman, Craig (Jodi) Sherman; great uncle of 11 and great-great uncle of 10. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pearl, their daughter Rozane (Nick) McCurdy, and a flock of grand-birds. He was a beloved friend to the late Pam “Smokey” Wilson and the Jannuzzo Family. Born on the West Side of Chicago in 1930, Jerry started out his life making very close lifelong friends with his classmates and neighborhood buddies. After serving a tour in the Korean War, he returned to Chicago eventually starting bond businesses. Jerry and his wife originally retired to Hollywood, Florida. There he served as a chairman of the board for GK Products. Always wanting to help others, he also participated in mentor program to help troubled youth and was very active in the Korean War memorial installation. Moving at last to Marietta, Georgia, he and Pearl became part of a new community of very close friends who quickly became family. In lieu of flowers, it would be most appreciated if donations were made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org, your local humane society, or a charity of your choice.
