Matthew Ascaridis

Dear family and friends of Matt,

It is with great sadness that I write this note. I was Matt´s Finance professor and Associate Dean during his time in the Notre Dame Exec. MBA program. I got to know Matt well, during our course and through the program, and our discussions since. Matt emanated intelligence, care, listening and contributing his thoughts, and of course his humor with that smile! Matt stood out in the class which was filled with special characters, and nice memories keep occurring. I am confident what I and others at Notre Dame experienced sound familiar to you, magnified tenfold for you because of your love and time with Matt. I know he is already sorely missed and leaves a hole in your and our hearts.

Please know that the thoughts, love and prayers from Matt´s classmates, professors, and the entire Notre Dame community are with Matt and you, his family and friends, during this difficult time.

I had convinced 13 friends to go skydiving for the 1st time. The best part about this memory was that Matt finished his jump and loved it so much he immediately paid and jumped again! Living life to the fullest!

Matt coached our boys in the Watt’s Winter Classic. Unhappy with their level of effort in the semi-final game, in classic Matt style, he skated the boys immediately afterwards like Herb Brooks did in the movie Miracle. It worked. As you can as in the picture, they took home the GOLD!
