Patti and family,
We are at a loss of words. Alan was bigger than life. We are thinking of you all and may his memory be for a blessing.

Dear Patti and Entire Caplan Family,
We were very sad to learn of Alan’s passing. We have fond memories of spending time together in Shul, at Ramah, Schechter, Ravinia, and other places, most recently enjoying a wonderful time with you when we were back in Chicago in June.
We will miss him. May his memory always be a blessing.
Much love always,
Becky and Michael

When I think of extended family events (weddings, bar Mitzvahs, etc.) my memories seem to always include Alan (and Patty). This new normal will take some time to acclimate to. A good man, a true Mensch, our lives were all enriched by the limited times we were able to spend together. May his memory be a blessing.

I worked with Alan at a CPA firm in my last year of law school and for a while thereafter. I found out that he was in the high school class at Mather I would have graduated with if I had stayed there. Alan taught me alot about taxes. He also taught me how to do real estate closings. I had to buy him lunch! He will be missed.

Patti, please accept my sincere condolences. Having just lost my own Alan 2 months ago I am well aware of the pain and sadness you are experiencing. My last meeting with your Alan was on November 10 and yesterday I emailed him. I am shocked and saddened by his passing. Please take care of yourself and your family during this most difficult time.
